Journal

I’ve been everywhere, man. I’ve been everywhere, man.

Crossed the desert’s bare, man.

I’ve breathed the mountain air, man.

Of travel I’ve a-had my share, man.

I’ve been everywhere.

Leopard

Today we took the Zodiak and slowly patrolled through ice flows looking for Leopard seals. To our surprise, they are actually quite curious and larger than you might imagine. They have no predator and are incredible hunters, especially for Gentoo penguins. Their grace through this polar sea is a site to behold. We spent the morning filming with a submerged housing. The leopard seals would come right up to the lens and pivot away disappearing into the murky waters. Our hands we getting quite cold working with the equipment. I was able to do some quick sketches, which I finished up in the evening when we got back to the boat. Such encounters were just the beginning of many more to come, in this place that teams with life and wonder.
